Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting the Job Career Critic site, which features our innovative concept of a Community Center where workers and employers can mutually express their thoughts about their workplace environment. We also provide job search assistance for Ex-Offenders, Worker Re-Employment, Veterans, and Military Employment, as well as social services and retraining for new skills. This is a free process and can be done in a few minutes.

Our privacy policy is clear: the personal information we collect on our website is proprietary and is only shared with agencies as needed to make decisions regarding your employment or social services needs. We also share your information with advertisers, marketing concerns, and companies we use for data analytics. It is your choice to provide information to Job Career Critic, and we will share that information with only the parties as discussed above and below. Information is collected and stored automatically.

While you browse our website, read pages, or download information, we automatically gather and store certain information about your visit. We automatically collect and store the following information about visits made to our website:

  • The IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which our website is accessed;
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access our site
  • The date and time our site is accessed
  • The pages visited
  • If a Job Career Critic website is visited from another website, the address of that website is collected

We aggregate this information and use it to help us make our site more useful to visitors — to learn about the number of visitors to our site, to determine those portions of our site which are of most significant interest to our users, and to learn about the types of technology our visitors use.

Multi-session cookies are used for web measurement, to improve your online experience by remembering your online interactions and preferences across multiple sessions, and to identify if you are a returning user. None of the information stored in either single-session or multi-session cookies used by Job Career Critic contains any personally identifiable information. Information collected for web measurement is stored and maintained indefinitely for historical web measurement and tracking.

If you prefer not to have non-personally identifiable persistent multi-session cookies stored on your computer, you can opt out. Doing so will not affect your use of our site, nor restrict your access to any site content or resources.

Privacy policy for Job Career Critic mobile applications

The privacy policy for Job Career Critic mobile applications is the same as above, except in these specific cases:

Emails

When creating an account to use the TAP mobile application, you must provide a valid email address and password. This information is stored on secure servers and is not made available to any third party. The e-mail address is used to contact a user who has forgotten a password.

Occasionally, we use the e-mail addresses we are provided to seek comments from individuals on the services offered. These comments enable us to identify areas for improvement in our services and enhance our relationship with users. You may decide to send us personally-identifying information, for example, your mailing address or telephone number, in an electronic mail message requesting information. Information collected in this manner is used solely for responding to requests for information. We may forward your e-mail to other representatives of the Department of Labor or contractors who are better able to respond to you.

The scheduled expiration of inactive user accounts

If a user has not ‘logged in’ or accessed an account for more than a year, the account will expire (be made inactive). Users will be notified, via the e-mail address provided, one month before the scheduled expiration date to alert them that the account is expected to be made inactive. Upon receiving the notification, a user can choose to keep the account active by logging in to it. If the user takes no action and the account is made inactive, the user can set up an account on the mobile app again.

Our commitment to data security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

All user information on the TAP mobile application is maintained on a secure server. The data can only be accessed through an administrator login or direct access to the server. User information is not shared with any third parties. We are committed to protecting users’ privacy and ensuring that personal information is handled safely and responsibly.
